Poker has become world famous as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank's first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call wager's amount is on same level to your original ante, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the bet is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus a sum in accordance with the original bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the bank's hand. The bank pays cash even with your initial bet and controlled odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
