Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Built on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the west in an excellent game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the croupier, unlike nearly all other poker games that gamblers play with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, starting players do not have to worry about other, more experienced gamblers winning their money.

One more Pai Gow advantage is the relatively leisurely game pace, beginners are able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make hasty choices.

It's also simpler to wager on for a long time with just a little bit of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands needs to be lower than each of the dealer's hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards face up and the casino gets 7 cards face down.

A five card hand and one two card hand need to be made from the seven cards, the five card hand must be better than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the casino's.
