Internet poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier saying "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course every one of the other players attain five cards. After you have observed your hand and the casino's first card, you need to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager's value is akin to your original bet, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantaneously to the bank. After the bet is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, with a figure on par with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the casino's hand. The bank pays cash even with your wager and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
