Poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier saying "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players attain five cards. Once you have observed your hand and the casino's 1st card, you have to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager's amount is akin to your original ante, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the dealer. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a sum equal to the initial bet. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the bank's hand. The casino pays out cash equal to your wager and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
